A tour and guide service in Springfield, Illinois called Springfield Walks has been leading tourists on a "Haunted Abe" tour of the city for years, where they visit historical sites related to Abraham Lincoln's life and times in the city. Now the tour operators are expanding their offerings with a new cooking tour of the city called The Culinary Walk.

The details are still being ironed out, but each food-themed walk will make at least three or four stops . Some of the possible destinations include the Old Capitol Farmers Market on Adams Street, and The Garden of Eat'n, where the group will stop for saffron ice cream and learn about Persian cuisine. Another restaurant on the itinerary will likely be Maldaner's Restaurant, where cooking tips and samples will be dispensed to guests. The tour operators say that an important part of the tours will be for guests to gain cooking knowledge.
